Abdul has over seven years of working experience spanning the areas of Entrepreneurship, Financial Advisory Services, Corporate Finance and Privatization as well as Venture Capital and Private Equity investing.
He is currently a Senior Manager and Head of Ventures and Business Advisory (Non-financial Services) unit. The business unit executes research, business planning, management and financial advisory and venturing activities on behalf of clients. In particular, he has been very active in advising core investors in Nigeria's Privatization program, and worked with one of the Government owned Telecom companies to prepare their five year business plan in preparation for privatization. In the area of business incubation, Abdul has championed the incubation of at least ten different enterprises in business segments ranging from e-payments, mining, logistics to manufacturing.
Before joining NEXTZON, he worked in HEIRS Advisory Services/HEIRS Capital Limited as an Investment Officer with portfolio responsibilities for two medium-sized Nigerian Banks' SME funds. Before HEIRS, Abdul had spent over 4 years with the Support and Training Entrepreneurship Program (STEP), an International Finance Corporation (IFC) initiative to support Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Nigeria. As a pioneer staff of STEP, Abdul was instrumental in the development of the program to achieving widespread successes in the Nigerian SME sector. He was involved in the development and packaging of business models and plans for several SME's in manufacturing, services, commercial trade and other sectors for funding as well as internal operations.
Abdul has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, Second Class Upper Division, from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria.
