Prior to joining NEXTZON, Segun was the head of Strategy and Portfolio Management in HEIRS Alliance and HEIRS Advisory Services. At HEIRS Alliance, Segun led several project teams involved in designing and implementing a number of the strategic initiatives that set the overall direction for key member companies in the HEIRS group, especially those in the financial services sector.

At NEXTZON, Segun typically leads project teams that assist local and international institutions in articulating their strategic direction over the medium to long term. He is a key member of our African regional expansion team where he has been actively involved in assisting several Nigerian organisations set-up and acquire business interests across Africa using a variety of innovative cross-border transaction structures. Segun has also been involved in setting-up and developing strategies for organisations in the ePayments, Insurance, Manufacturing and Capital Market industries among others.

Segun was a consultant with Accenture for over five years, where he was a member of the Financial Services Market Unit. During this time, he worked on several projects for both local and international banks. He was also one of the few professionals in the Lagos Office that had the opportunity to work on projects internationally in Germany and The Netherlands by virtue of the unique skills he developed as a functional consultant on banking systems implementation projects.

Before joining Accenture, Segun worked for Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, as a member of the Corporate Finance Team where he was exposed to Equity Portfolio Management, International Trade Finance and Capital Raising activities via public offerings and private placements.

Segun is the Head, Ventures and Business Advisory (Financial Services and Payments) and his areas of expertise include Corporate and Competitive Strategy Development, Business Planning and Set up and Organisational Restructuring.

He has a B.Sc. degree in Economics, Second Class Upper Division, from the University of Lagos and has attended several professional courses and is an alumnus of the prestigious London Business School.

Segun is also an active Fate Foundation volunteer/mentor and also delivers regular training sessions on Personal Financial Management and other areas to aspiring entrepreneurs.
